Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I write about life as a Christian wife, mother of eight children, and grandmother.

Enjoy.

Forty books in 2019! I surpassed my goal by four! So much good writing represented above.

Favorites? Impossible to say. The titles and subjects were very diverse. I am most likely to read Grit: The Power and Passion of Perseverance, The Yes Brain: How to Cultivate Courage, Curiosity, and Resilience in Your Child, and The Brave Learner: Finding Everyday Magic in Homeschool, Learning and Life again. They will all help me keep doing what I need to do daily.

Two that I am really glad I read are: Mascot by Antony John - an author and book setting local to St. Louis. And Great Things Happen Every Day by Phil Barth - an author I know personally. This last title was particularly enjoyable to read. Phil and I have not only our high school years in common, but we have both raised sons, our families participate in Boy Scouts, and we each love our families and spouses deeply. I appreciate Phil’s encouragement to find the good things in each day. As he lists those, you get to see the rhythm and priorities in his life. His wife, Beth, and his children are clearly at the top of that list. Reading how he found joy in every day life caused me to do the same.  I’ve read a few titles with a similar theme by women. This book was especially refreshing from a male point of view and author. Thanks Phil for the great read about great things!
