We finished our homeschool year and our read across America in picture books! What an amazing year of stories. I feel like we met so many interesting people along the way through this collection of books.

Without a doubt the most fascinating tale in this region was the story of the Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse in the book, Galloping Gertie. I remember seeing footage of the bridge failure in high school and we watched this one minute video multiple times.
